We chose to take “near and far” literally, through measuring physical space through the application of an augmented reality application. We took video overlaid with measurement data in narrow Paris streets, demonstrating representations of near and far via the best guesses of an AR application.
We felt the digital and physical are in a sense themselves a representation of “near and far.” The digital has become near, as our phones live mere centimeters from our faces, and the physical is now the far, as we look up from Google Maps to stare down the streets and metro stops of Paris.
